Food Trailers

A: This timeframe varies quite a bit, so it is always best to reach out and ask what our current build times are. We work with some of the fastest trailer builders in the industry, because our desire is to help our customers start making money as quickly as possible.

A: For several reasons, we do not.
Health and fire safety codes: Mobile food is growing rapidly, and because of this, health departments and fire marshals are constantly changing their codes. We want to make sure the food trailers we are building are in line with the most up-to-date codes. In some situations, currently operating businesses can also be given a grace period to comply with new codes, but if the trailer changes ownership, it will be required to be current with all codes. This can take a lot of extra time and money that was not planned for.

A: It is always a good idea to reach out to us with this question. As a national dealer for food trailers, we deal with different regulations for different areas, so it is nearly impossible for us to carry any inventory. Sometimes a situation arises that enables us to have one or two trailers available, so it is definitely worth asking us.

A: Financing a food trailer can be more challenging than financing a regular vehicle. Some banks view it as a high-risk start-up business while others view it as a piece of equipment. Some banks won't offer financing on any mobile food period.Check out our FINANCING page for some more information and to apply!

A: All of our trailers come with a full electrical system. This includes a panel box in the trailer that has fuses that control the individual outlets and electrical components. That panel box is powered by an outside electrical source (either a generator or hard-wired outlet) with the appropriate electrical plug. Usually this plug is a 50Amp plug which provides for maximum power draw, but we can also make it a 30Amp plug.

A: Sales tax requirements are set by each individual state. Most states DO require you to pay sales tax. You do not pay it to us a dealer though, it will be paid by you when you register the trailer at your local DMV. In order to register your vehicle, you will need the Bill of Sale along with the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO).

A: Most trailers purchased from us are tandem axle trailers, which means they have two axles. As required by law, all of our tandem axle trailers have 4-wheel brakes, a 7-way electrical plug that connects to the tow vehicle, and a 2 5/16-inch hitch (which requires the tow vehicle to use a 2 5/16-inch ball). Your tow vehicle will also need an electronic brake controller installed.
